ONCE IN A CITY: A RESOURCE FOR CHILDREN

This book has been written using archive research carried out during the Overspill project.
The book has been designed for Key Stage 1 children living within one of Manchester’s Overspill estates. At present, the National Curriculum requires schools to teach KS1 children about significant historical events in their own locality and we hope that this story about their estate will be an interesting and entertaining read which helps to meet that requirement.

HOME AND COMMUNITY: A DEMENTIA FRIENDLY ACTIVITY RESOURCE FOR CARE STAFF AND COMMUNITY WORKERS

In the summer of 2019 Cartwheel Arts and Small Things Creative Projects ran eight dementia friendly workshops in care homes and memory cafes across Langley and Darnhill to celebrate stories inspired by the area. Following the training sessions care staff, housing and community workers were invited to come along to learn how to run similar creative sessions with the theme of Home and Community. This downloadable resource provides a step by step guide of the process for anyone wanting to try the session in their own settings.
